Why is anodizing done?

Anodized aluminum parts and aluminum profiles are used to make aluminum. Automobile aluminum parts, handrail parts, electrical circuit components, aluminum airplane parts, aluminum balustrades, and various other aluminum parts are available.

What's the process of anodizing?

Usually, anodizing involves four steps as follows.

First Step: Pre-treatment

This step involves Pre-treating the aluminum with degreasing and pickling, as well as producing a visible finish, which is the first stage in anodizing. To achieve the desired look, bright or satin finishes might be used. Light etching is used in satin finishing to provide an even, matte surface on the aluminumBright finishing is the process of cleaning any heavy metal residue from aluminum that was not removed during the pre-treatment procedures. Bright or satin-finish aluminum extrusions provide a smooth, clean surface for anodizing.

Second Step: Anodic oxide

The material is immersed in an acid electrolyte bath as an electric current flows through it during the anodizing process. "Aluminum works as an anode so that oxygen ions are released... to mix with the aluminum atoms at the surface," as everyone knows. The metal is chemically transformed to the desired degree during this procedure, which is a type of controlled oxidization. Colors can be applied to aluminum after it has been anodized in a variety of ways.

Third Step: Colour anodizing

There are several techniques for color anodizing aluminum. Electrolytic coloring, which includes soaking anodized aluminum in an inorganic metal salt bath, is one method. As the metal salts oxidize in the pores of the aluminum, an electric current is delivered to the solution. The color of aluminum will change depending on the chemical conditions of the bath and the length of time spent immersed. Popular anodized color finishes include gold, black, stainless, clear, brown, bronze, and nickel. Some companies using advanced technology also offer color matching and custom color anodizing.

Fourth Step: Sealing

Sealing the aluminum to prevent corrosion and water leakage is the final step. A cold approach, a hot procedure, or a combination of the two can be used to seal the anodized aluminum extrusions. Sealing also prevents any scratching or staining of the surface.
