How to Solder or Braze Zinc Plates at Half the Melting Point of Zinc

In this demonstration, two zinc coated plates are soldered without melting the zinc. Super Alloy 1 multi-metal rod and flux has a working temperature of only 350 degrees F

Just dip the Super Alloy 1 into the honey flux and apply liberally. You can use propane, MAPP gas, butane, a heat gun, straight acetylene or oxy acetylene, (be sure to turn the oxygen down as zinc has a very low melting point).

There is no need to force the rod into place, just let it melt when it’s ready.
