High-Precision Die Cast Mold Machining on Makino V56i

When it comes to machining die/mold parts with long cycle times, the V56i vertical machining center does so with superb accuracy.

The video shows high-efficiency machining of a die-cast mold in 50HRc tool steel. The part is 3.94 inches by 3.94 inches by 4.33 inches wide (100 mm by 100 mm by 110 mm). This particular application had a cycle time of 9 hours, 29 minutes, for a total cycle time reduction of 29 percent compared to previous technologies.
